Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and when you need something to get started right, you have options near Circleville, OH. We won’t suggest well-known restaurants and fast-food chains: you already know about those and what you’ll get there. We’d like to suggest some of the best breakfast places in the general area where you can get a homecooked meal.

Goodwin’s Family Restaurant

As the name suggests, this is a family-friendly place you’ll find at 214 Lancaster Pike. They open at 7 AM every day but Monday. The atmosphere here will keep you coming back, and the food is delicious, well-priced, and served with a smile. They are well-known for their crunchy, flavorful fried chicken: but they are also a hot local spot for a delicious, stick-to-your-ribs breakfast.

Try their beef and eggs with potato or their blueberry pancakes with bacon. Their bacon and cheddar omelet is to die for, and we love their sausage, egg, and cheese country sandwiches, served on a grilled English muffin. Their home fries are also a winner, and the biscuits and gravy will keep you full all day long.

Cherry Street Diner

If you want to make a morning of it, head up Route 23 a ways to 29 Cherry St. in Asheville to visit this great diner. They’re wildly popular, and as soon as you eat here, you’ll understand why. They open up at 7 AM and close at 2 PM except on the weekends when they actually open even earlier at 6 AM. That should tell you something about the quality of the breakfast you’ll get here.

Their breakfast specials are always worth stopping in to look at, and they’re always designed to power you through a long day, like grilled tenderloin steak, fried bologna, or a sirloin steak. Their specials generally come with two eggs, toast, and home fries. We also love their biscuits and gravy, the Western omelet, and the sausage and egg sandwich.

Crosstown Creamery and Diner

Do you ever want to just splurge for breakfast? Most mornings we can’t do this, but when the time comes to treat yourself in the morning, Crosstown Creamery is where you should go. It’s worth the short drive to 90 E Main St. in Tarlton for great service, delicious food, and a fine selection of breakfast food. They’re open from 8 AM every day but Monday.

For breakfast, you must have their homemade, fresh sausage gravy or the griddle plate: the griddle plate is two slices of thick French toast or three fluffy pancakes with bacon or sausage. You can get your griddle topped with anything from chocolate chips to peanut butter to fresh fruit, and if you don’t want sausage or bacon, for a small upcharge you can get BBQ pork, quinoa with mushrooms, ground turkey, chicken tenders, ham, and more.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, stop by Coughlin Ford of Circleville and see why we’re known for our great service and selection!
