3 Signs Your Ford Needs a Brake Repair

Good brakes are vital for the safety of you and your car. They give you complete control over your car's speed and enable you to stop when and where you want to. Like any other mechanical system, your brakes are subject to wear and tear. In time, you'll need a brake repair, and your Ford dealer can provide it. We'd like to tell you about some of the signs that your brakes need some work. Vibrations When You Brake When you apply the brakes, hydraulic pressure from the brake fluid forces the brake calipers to close against the wheel rotors. The pads inside the calipers generate friction against the rotors, which stops your car. The rotors are the flat smooth discs attached behind your wheels. Their flat surfaces provide the most efficient surface for braking. The friction material is attached to the pads by a strong adhesive. When your brakes heat up, some of this adhesive can liquify. Liquified adhesive can smear across the rotor surface, where it dries quickly in the heat. The dried adhesive, however, will produce uneven sections on the rotor. If the brake calipers clamp against these uneven sections, you'll feel vibrations. more Screeching and Grinding Your brake pads slowly wear down each time you use the brakes. The pad manufacturers build a reminder into each pad in the shape of a metal spike. This spike will scratch against the rotor, and its loud screeching noise shows it's time to change your pads. If you don't replace your ads when they start to screech, the friction material will continue to wear. When the material has worn off, the next time you use your brakes the bare metal of the pads will be forced against the rotors. This contact produces loud grinding noises as the brake pads cut into and damage the rotor's surface. Your pads will need to be replaced immediately to prevent further damage. Soft Brakes Your braking system is highly-pressurized. When you step on the brakes, you'll immediately feel resistance from the fluid. This resistance is normal and a sign that your brakes are working well. If you receive little resistance from the pedal, this is a sign that you have a brake problem. The lack of resistance means that your brakes don't have the level of pressure they should have. The pressure could be low due to a brake fluid leak or a blockage in the braking system. Our technicians will examine your brakes and fix the cause of the problem. If you're experiencing brake problems, Schedule a Service Appointment ASAP with us at Coughlin Ford of Circleville or give us a call at 740-207-2106. Our expert technicians will fix the problem and you'll be driving safely on the road again in no time. The Top 3 Ice Cream and Frozen Yogurt Shops in Driving Distance of Circleville, OH

It's no secret that it can get hot in Ohio in the summer, but thankfully there are plenty of places where you can cool off with a frozen treat. These are 3 of our favorite places to stop for ice cream on extra hot days in Circleville, OH. Wittich's Candy Shop Wittich's is celebrating over 180 years in business! They also have an old-fashioned soda fountain, which is where you can order a variety of sweet treats. Since then, it has undergone many changes and upgrades, but it is still a family-owned mom & pop shop. Their current building was built in 2001 and even has a drive-thru! That's not the only thing that has changed over the years, the menu has grown as well. They now have over 100 menu items to choose from, including everything from hot dogs and burgers to ribeye steak. Of course, the star of the show at Circleville Dairy Shed is the desserts. They offer 43 flavors of soft serve, all of which are served in your choice of a cone, cup, pint, quart, or gallon size. In addition to soft serve, they also have 14 different specialty sundaes and 29 different flavors of arctic swirl. If that's not enough for you, you can also choose from a variety of milkshakes or try a slushie or fruit smoothie. United Dairy Farmers To the rest of the world, it may seem crazy to think that the best frozen dairy treat in town comes from a convenience store. But here in Ohio, we know that United Dairy Farmers is the place to go if you are craving quality. Originally started as a dairy store in 1938, United Dairy Farmers has expanded across Ohio and offers way more than just delicious milkshakes and cones. Make sure to try their homemade brand of frozen dessert. There are plenty of places to choose from when taking the family out for a frozen treat on a hot day, and you don't need to worry about the kids making a mess all over the back seat. Ford's ActiveX seating material is designed just for these situations. It is easy to clean and stain-resistant, so when the kids spill in the back seat, it's easy to wipe up.
