The Bronco Sport is the compact version of the legendary Ford Bronco SUV, but it feels just as at home on rugged trails as its larger sibling. In addition to its off-roading prowess, it boasts a spacious interior with cleverly designed storage compartments and great technology. Here’s a quick guide to the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport!

Basics About the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport

Engines and Transmission

The base engine is a turbocharged 1.5L three-cylinder EcoBoost engine that generates 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. Also available is a 250-horsepower turbo 2.0L inline-four that offers 277 lb-ft of torque—enough grunt to get the Bronco Sport out of just about any rut. Both engines pair well with a responsive eight-speed automatic transmission that features SelectShift with paddle shifters for 2.0L models.

Off-Road Capability

Every Bronco Sport comes standard with a supremely capable 4×4 drive system to help you get through tough environments. As you travel over uneven or slippery surfaces, the system constantly monitors for any potential loss in traction and diverts the appropriate amount of power to prevent wheelspin.

The Terrain Management System features multiple GOAT (Goes Over Any type of Terrain) Modes, which optimizes throttle, braking, and gearshifts for a variety of conditions. These modes include settings for snow, sand, and an Eco mode for maximum fuel efficiency over normal roads. Badlands models come with an additional mode for rock crawling that takes advantage of its rear differential lock by sending available torque to a single wheel.

Exterior

Built with outdoor adventuring in mind, the Bronco Sport’s handsome exterior also provides excellent utility. The safari-style steel roof allows for increased cargo space and its rack structure can support up to 150 pounds. You’ll be able to easily secure your kayaks or bikes to the rack and even set up your tent on top of the vehicle if you prefer an elevated camping spot.

Durable wheel arch moldings and rocker panels protect the Bronco Sport from damage while traveling over gravel and rocky terrain. Additional protection is available from the Bandlands model’s metal bash plates.

Interior

Inside the Bronco Sport is a stylishly designed passenger cabin constructed with top-notch materials and offering a bevy of great features. Despite its smaller size, there’s an ample amount of headroom, legroom, and cargo space thanks to the high roofline. Hidden under the rear seating is a large storage compartment for keeping valuables. The available Cargo Management System adds shelves, dividers, and a slide-out table.

There’s also an available 400-watt AC power outlet, wireless charging station, and power moonroof.

Infotainment System

All models feature Ford’s SYNC 3 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with enhanced voiced recognition. The system supports connectivity through Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and multiple USB ports. Internet access is available while on the go with the FordPass Connect 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. The available voice-activated navigation system lets you pinch to zoom while using the display.

Ford’s Bronco Sport is the perfect companion for your excursions into the great outdoors with its brilliant all-wheel drive system, strong construction, and ability to haul all sorts of equipment. Stop by at Coughlin Ford of Circleville today and check it out for yourself!
