Pack your outdoor gear in the trunk of a Ford Escape, EcoSport, or Explorer, and head down the road to enjoy all the exciting outdoor activities around Circleville, OH. Head down the short Wetland Trail along the river banks that connect the Towpath Trail to the Pickaway Trail and follow the path to the 2.5-mile Richards River Trail. This grassed path follows the river and winds past a picturesque lake where you'll spot plenty of bird and animal life and enjoy the spectacular river and wetland views. 3. Play a Round of Golf on the Picaway Golf Course Tee off at the 18-hole Picaway Golf Course at 1399 Stoutsville Pike in Circleville. Spring Bird Hike Head to Canal Park at 23352 Canal Road in  Circleville on April 29 at 9 a.m. to enjoy a spring morning hiking with the Pickaway County Park District on the annual Spring Bird Hike, an extension of the Pickaway County Park District bird checklist program. The Spring Bird Hike starts in Canal Park on the west bank of the scenic Scioto River and follows the trail to the pristine Calamus Swamp, a 19-acre kettle hole formed during the last ice age to catch glimpses of marsh birds and waterfowl along the way. 4. Viking Festival One spring event you don't want to miss is the annual Viking Festival on the last Saturday and Sunday of April every year in the Ashville Community Park at 165 Walnut Street in Ashville, 9.4 miles from Circleville. Meet expert craftsmen and artisans displaying Viking-themed leather goods, hand-woven textiles, furs, wood carvings, and pewter products.
