2023 Ford F-150
The top dog in the light-duty pickup class for decades, the Ford F-150 returns for the 2023 model year. The latest iteration of the F-150 offers the impressive capability and advanced features drivers expect from a Ford. Here are the features people love about the 2023 Ford F-150.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 F-150 has eight trims: XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Limited. Starting with the entry-level XL, you get a locking tailgate with lift assist, power and heated side mirrors, and keyless entry. The XLT sits atop 17-inch alloy wheels and adds chrome bumpers, while the Lariat rolls down the road on 18-inch chrome wheels with driver's side LED spotlights and power-folding heated side mirrors. Finally, the top-of-the-line Limited features 22-inch wheels and a twin-panel moonroof.
Engine (Power)
Five engines are available on the 2023 Ford F-150. The first engine offering is a full-hybrid 3.5-liter Powerboost V-6 engine that will crank out a combined 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. A non-hybrid version of this 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged engine produces 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. The third option is an EcoBoost 2.7-liter twin intercooled turbocharged V-6 that churns out 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.
The well-known 5.0-liter TI-VCT V-8 engine is the next engine offered for 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. Engine number five is a 3.3-liter Ti-VCT putting out 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. Finally, the last engine offered is yet another 3.5-liter engine, a high-output twin-turbo HO EcoBoost that produces 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque and is only available for the Raptor.
Performance
When looking for a pickup, maximum towing and payload capacity are usually the top performance features desired. Depending on your configuration, the maximum towing capacity starts at 8,200 pounds and maxes out at 14,000 pounds. The maximum payload capacities range from 1,840 pounds to 3,250 pounds, again depending on your overall configuration.
Most trims have rear-wheel drive standard, but to handle inclement weather and rougher terrain or to tow more, you can opt for the four-wheel drive. Drive modes allow you to set the driving experience to your personal preference or the current conditions and consist of Normal, Trail, Tow/Haul, Slippery, and Eco.
Interior
Get in the cabin of the 2023 Ford F-150, and you're surrounded by intuitive technology and comfort features for everyone. Beginning with the base XL, you get cloth seating, a Ford SYNC 4 infotainment system controlled via an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless phone connectivity, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Opt for the King Ranch to get a wireless charger, exclusive embroidered upholstery, and heated seating with interior wood accents. Moving up to the Tremor gets you a larger 12-inch touchscreen, a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system, unique black seats in cloth with orange stitching, and a flow-through center console.
Safety Features
For 2023, the Ford F-150 includes standard safety features such as automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, and automatic high-beam lights, which all make up the Ford Co-Pilot360 system. In addition, you'll find a rearview camera with trailer hitch guidance, rear parking sensors, and wiper-activated headlights. Opting for one of the upper trims, you can select adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.
